What a(n uneventful) week.

So this week started off pretty darn good … I was at a Nine Inch Nails gig on Monday night, which by the way was absolutley amazing :D

I’ve never been a huge NIN fan, however, this gig kind of turned my opinion around from thinking they were “ok” to thinking they are amazing performers. They had a great prescense on stage and really engaged the crowd, as well as playing a very good set. The one support act we got to see were good too, but their on-stage prescense wasn’t up to much (bloody good music though, band called ladytron).

Apart from that it’s just been work work work :(

Hopefully with not having anything planned for this weekend I can just get out into the lakes or the city and get some use out of the brand new camera I purchased last week :-) A good excuse is to go back down to work to pick up my wallet I forgot to get before I left the office this evening.

say what?

Well well well, last night really was pretty random.

Friend Trout mentioned how the epoxies were playing at the Royal Oak in Poulton. Decding I had nothing better to do with my tuesday evening, I went along for a look.

Totally random, there were a couple of support acts, who’s names I unfortunately can’t remember, the ones who were a bit more proper punk than the rest were ace as tits.

Now, not being an epoxies fan and never having listened to them, I wasn’t sure what to expect. They were rather good, and put on a fun show, so pretty good really. I did wonder why they had gone from supporting NoFX a couple of years ago, to doing small tiny gigs in random pubs in the UK, whatever, they should at least be playing academy I reckon in manchester.

Anyway. My mood for the 0 people who read this, and wonder, is rather good atm, as I’m also going to be purchasing my EOS 400D on friday, YAY! I’ve had jessops in Blackpool put a black one behind for me to pickup on Friday afternoon once I’ve got back from Altingham (more on that in a minute). Also ordered a 4GB OEM CF Card for my camera, hell yeah, only 21 quid incl. postage, should do me a while :D

This work week has been boring as watching shit dry. Thanks mainly to doing a RedHat training course that is just re-iterating things that I already must know for my job. So it’s been a fun 60 miles per way journey every day to do something that’s not really been that interesting. Gutted.

Oh well, more rants in the wonderful world of the christoph-gee some other time, bye!

The most dissapointing Gig ever,

So I was looking forward to my first gig in a while tonight, which was Bullet for my valentine, who were playing at the Apollo in Manchester. Guess how it went …

It wasn’t the best sign, when the carpark was half empty for the Apollo :/ and then when walking in even I (at the kiddy age of 22) felt like an old git, due to the average age seemingly being ~ 14 years.

The support act we got to see were ok, as I lay dying, but it was total GAY that protest the hero decided not to play, bummers.

I wasn’t that impressed with As I lay Dying, but when Bullet for my valentine got on stage, I was begining to wish as i lay dying were back, total bunch of gay.

I have to say it is possibly one of the worst gigs i’ve been to, even Sikth which was sucky, was much better. At least next is possibly norma jean, then NIN, and deftones in march!! all those will kick ass (lets see if any beat the MSI or Pitchshifter gig from 2005!).

tatty byes kiddywinkles!
