My life is an on-going saga

So the car’s not broke beacause of the immobiliser, it’s something (probably more serious) to do with the wiring that the fuel injectors rely on to communicate with my ECU. Woopy bloody Doo.

DSG Morcombe have had the car for two days now and haven’t figured it out, so god knows how much this is going to cost me :(

I was thinking of getting a new car, possibly a 2005(ish) civic CDTi, but if I keep the clio for three years, I should be in a position after that to get the 350z GT I really want (at the moment).

God I don’t know what to do, I think I’ll end up keeping the clio for now and hoping it’s ok till I’ve run it into the ground and am ready for the new car.

Another odd thing I’ve been thinking about is growing my hair, which I’ve been attempting the past two months. My hair is getting to that point now where it’s annoying me, and i should go get a light trim to try and make it look a bit interesting/tidy. I reckon maybe four months of growing it will do, and should mean I can go to a proper stylist and get a decent hair cut. Hoo-bloody-raaa to getting rid of boring hair!

Anyway, sleep for now, gotta bitch to DSG about my car not being sorted yet, in the morning!!

Not quite sure …

about how I actually feel at the moment, kinda numb i guess.

I’m annoyed at my car, for not working since last sunday:

I drove home from work fine, on friday evening, no incidents or anything to note that could cause a problem, however …

I get in my car on Sunday evening, to go to get fuel for the coming week, and the immobiliser has decided to not let me start my car! An hour later it works, and I go to the petrol station, manage to get back without incident.

Go to go out to see a friend a few hours later, but Immobiliser has decided to not let me use my car again, and stays so for the rest of the week.

How annoying, I now have to get my car towed to the local Renault Garage, as there is no way to by-pass the immobiliser, even with a silly long code and a rain-man style dance (It’s a “security feature”, according to one renault customer services monkey).

Apparently it may be that the key’s need re-coding, which costs around 40 quid (to hook a sodding laptop up to my ECU, and to send a radio signal to my key, bastards. Excuse my french)

However if it isn’t a simple case of my key needs re-coding, it “COULD” be the code ring/receiver (or whatever the hell it is) sat in my steering column, which will cost circa 90 quid to fix. Going on from that there could be another load of things to fix! I hate having a car, it sucks having to spend so much on it (400 quid this december gone had to be spent on another part of the electrics :( )

I’m also supposed to a resource in for some work this coming tuesday, due to start at around 04:00. If my car isn’t fixed I will be buggered and unable to come in early enough, as I will be having to get the train in till the car’s sorted (apparently it could take around 12 days to order the parts for the immobiliser), which will no doubt piss my boss off :(

As I’ve moaned about before, someone close to me died just after christmas, which meant I attended my first funeral. I really didn’t like it at all, I felt so bad and actually got emotional (yes, I do have feelings other than annoyance). The bastard thing is, a friend with whom I went to college with and worked with during that time at the world famous blackpool burger king, passed away too last week. Carl Denby was an awesome lad, and though I hadn’t seen much of him since our college days, I will always remember the guy as one of the most down to earth, genuine blokes that I have EVER met, rest well mate, I will rememeber and miss you, Carl.

January 2007 sucks, I hope this month is going to be the worst, and the rest gets considerably better.
I’m looking forward to next month though, work are sending me on a redhat course, and there’s NIN at the end of the month at the Apollo, woo!

New year, new beginning.

Welcome to 2007…

People who know me, know that I had a few setbacks in 2006, which included shitty things like someone close to me dying in the past few days, and being in a car accident myself that should have ended up with me being in a bodybag.
So you’ll understand when I say; Good riddance 2006.

I don’t make NY resolutions as such, however I have a couple of aims for the coming months, which shouldn’t be too difficult:

  • Pay enough off of my debts to be in a sensible position, IE the only debt be a grand or two on the existing car.
  • Save enough after paying up the debts, to be a proportional deposit for a house to live in. I think I’m aiming for circa £90,000 for a two bed terraced that may need a couple of grand spent on decoration etc.
  • Stop being such a sodding recluse. I’ve had plenty of opportunity to make more friends and go out partying like every 22 year old single bloke should, but have chosen to be quiet this year. I have some good friends since spending more time back at home this year, but really ought to go out socialise more :)

With any luck I’ll be able to afford my EOS 400D within the next month or two, thanks to getting over £200 towards it in vouchers for jessops from Mum and Dad :) so no doubt this blog will get updated more with pictures and things like that over the coming year.

Got some good gigs to look forward too so far, Bullet for my valentine this Thursday, NIN in febuary shortly after my birthday, and Deftones in March. The highlight will definately be Deftones :D

I keep an up-to-date musical history of my listening on last, which is here
